The Charity Guild of St Ives
We are constantly looking for bright, energetic people to support our charitable efforts. Residents and non-residents alike are invited to join in the activities of the Charity Guild. We meet the 2nd Tues. of specified months during the school year. (See the Homeowners’ Newsletter). Membership information is available from the Membership Chairperson, Robin Costello at 678-957-9435 or by email at thosebirds@aol.com.
The first meeting of the new operating year will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 9 at 10 AM at the St Ives Country Club. We will be making up TLC toiletry kits for CHRIS Kids, an organization supporting young people referred to them by foster care or DFCS, the juvenile justice system, entering one of the 9 group homes they maintain.
In addition, our speaker will be Geoff Berlin, founder of the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce, who will speak about needs close to home. Members often stay for lunch following the meeting. The Charity Guild, in partnership with the St Ives Country Club and the Homeowners’ Association, will sponsor a “MEET & GREET” session with the new Johns Creek Chief of Police Ed Densmore on Thursday Sept. 11 at 7:30 PM at the St Ives Country Club. This will be an opportunity for citizens to bring their concerns and to listen to the Chief’s future plans for the newly formed Police Force. Other plans throughout the year include the popular ARTS & CRAFT SHOW with Bake Sale, the Christmas Coffee and Gift Exchange and the popular Wine Tasting social event in Feb.
The Charity Guild has retained the services of Andrew Costello, a licensed contractor, who will, for a fee of $75, inspect, clean and paint homeowners' mailboxes. A percentage of his fee will be donated by him to the Charity Guild. Contact Andrew at 404-488-7436. or ATLContractingservices@live.com
